The main goal of the project was to utilize the existing municipal symbolism. Based on historical and heraldic analysis we developed a new drawing of the coat of arms, a seal and a town flag. After approval by the Heraldic Commission of the Ministry of Interior and Administration the new symbols were adopted by the Town Council.

The Visual Identity System of Skawina is based on the coat of arms. Logos for municipal institutions are created according to simple principles, adding typography to the coat of arms. This ensures that the town’s visual identity is cohesive and easy to understand.

Inspiration for the new graphic design of the town came from the panorama of Krakow, Kazimierz, and Skawina from Hartmann Schedel’s 15th-century “World Chronicle.” The depiction of the town among the hills led us to think that good neighborhood is an important element of Skawina’s identity.
